Winter activities
During winter 2 chairlifts which are located just 5 minutes walk from the chalet take those eager to hit the slopes to an outstanding ski-paradise boasting 41 ski lifts and 155 kilometres of ski pistes.
Churwalden is complete with an excellent ski school for alpine skiing and snowboarding. See www.churwalden.ch for more details. For comprehensive information about the whole ski region see www.lenzerheide.ch Unlike many resorts Churwalden has an excellent beginners lift. Skis may be purchased or hired from the local sports shop www.seeli.com
Cross country skiing is available on the frozen lake of Heidsee, near Lenzerheide.
In Churwalden there is a natural ice skating rink about 200 metres from the chalet; it is inexpensive & skates can be rented there.
There are several toboggan runs to enhance the endless hours of enjoyment. A good one is to be found from the middle station of the Rothorn. For the best and longest one you drive to Bergun and take the train to Preda from which you enjoy the thrilling 5km ride down the Albula pass to Bergun. Toboggans can be rented at both these places.
